1st step in gaining ground = VISION

Proverbs 29:18) - Where there is no vision for ____________ the people perish…

“Where there is no vision for ______ the people cast off restraint…

Vision hebrew - chazon - to see, behold, perceive.

Egypt - is where they were when God says I want something better for you.

• Egypt = is the land of not enough

(Exodus 3:16)  “Go and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, “The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has declared to me saying “I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt, and I promise that I will bring up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites…a land flowing with milk and honey."


The Wilderness is the place they had to go through to get to Canaan.

• Wilderness = the land of just enough

Numbers 14:2 - All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!"


People With Vision…Keep Gaining Ground!

Canaan is the Promise Land.

• Canaan = is the land of more than enough.

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory!  Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I can be free from pain.”  And God granted his request.
