Hear what God has to say each week at Eastpointe Community Church.
(Hebrews 12:2 MSG) Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed--that exhilarating finish in and with God--he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
(John 19:30) When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.”
Lesson #5: Be assured, there is a purpose and an end.
(Job 30:20) “I will call to you, O God, but you never answer; when I pray, you pay no attention.”
(Job 38:1-5) Then the Lord answered Job out of the storm. He said: Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this. What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings? Surely you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years!”
(Job 40:3-4) Then Job answered the LORD: “I am unworthy-how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.”
(Job 42:1-5) Then Job replied to the LORD: “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know... My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.”
√ God is all-powerful.
(Colossians 1:16-17 MSG) For everything, absolutely everything—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.
√ God is all-knowing.
(Hebrews 4:13 TLB) He knows about everyone, everywhere. Everything about us is bare and wide open to the all-seeing eyes of our living God; nothing can be hidden from him.
√ God is ever-present.
(Hebrews 13:5-6) “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
When I know God is with me, I can face what is against me.
(2 Timothy 1:12) I am suffering... Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
1. I know that God loves me.
2. I know that God wants the best for me.
3. I know that God has a plan for me.
4. I know that God will bring me through.
5. I know that God wants to use my pain to help others.
(1 Timothy 1:15-16) --- This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.
